1) It's a bullet design where the base of the round is tapered to improve ballistics and accuracy (supposedly).

2) The name comes from some French guy that designed the projectile and the "mini" descriptor is a bastardization of his name.

3) A set trigger is the first stage of a two stage trigger system, that is used to set the hair, hence the name "set". While they don't have to co-exist, they do more than not, so yes.
