By paper money I mean fiat currency - yes. I mean "money" with only extrinsic value - not intrinsic value. Anyone trading in such writ, and comfortable with it, is a fool of the first order. Not one such currency in the history of the world - and there have been THOUSANDS - has ever failed to crash. Not ONE - save those currently circulating. That they will crash is written in the sands of time, son. Meanwhile, the Kingdom which issued Spanish pieces of 8 failed, and became a republic. That republic failed, and became a fascist regime. That fascist regime failed, and the Monarchy was restored.

During all of those different governments - the issuing monarchy, the republic, the fascist state and the re-established monarchy, - those pieces of 8 held their value.

Any money based on the imprimatur of a nation state is ****. Any who defend **** are sneaky, lying **** defenders.
