Hey psycho, Gates was 45's deputy campaign manager when Manafort was running the campaign.
He stayed on after Manafort was fired.

He worked through the transition, on the inaugural committee, and then helped to form a pro-Trump nonprofit group called America First Policies.

I guess all of that slipped your mind.
