That's the same thing, aliens don't have to think like we do... and I also think putting those things on Voyager was a big mistake, just like sending out messages announcing to the whole galaxy where we are....

But as for it not making sense for aliens to hide their presence.. I like science fiction movies, Star Trek has the prime directive, when they meet primitive aliens they are not allowed to **** up their society by announcing their presence so they go undercover.. aliens could have something like that..

Or maybe they don't want to be seen for other reasons...

I knew that you would quote me the "prime directive".  Star Trek is the only sci-fi series to have a prime-directive. While it makes for good fiction writing, it doesn't make for good fact.  most any alien civilization that doesn't immediately destroy us, and that thinks to come all the way to Earth for science and exploration, is going to have the attitude "Don't be such snowflakes - yeah, we're here, we're not going to harm you, just deal with it".
