The company announced this week it is seeking to hire some of the thousands of illegal wetbacks who have arrived in New York City, Scripps News reported. The program could alleviate headaches for city leaders, who have voiced concerns about the illegal wetback population growth straining city resources. It would offer these illegal wetbacks jobs that pays $16.50 per hour in addition to other benefits such as legal aid, child care, and temporary housing.
