But you are contradicting yourself. As you pointed out, the nsdap did not start out being in power. Therefore, they were able to 'destroy' political opposition in any way other than persuading the people that they were correct and had the best plan for helping Germany. That was a necessary part of them acquiring power.

But still, you are not addressing the point I made and the absurdity of it. i will remind you. The nadap had no issue with determining who its party leader was. It was adolf hitler.  So why woukd you compare the democrats to the nsdap when they struggle to find their own leadership? Whether you like the nsdap or whatever is irrelevant to think logical issue. Hitler needed to ELIMINATE ROHM and disband the SA since he DID NOT have full control of the military at that time and the numbers of military had been DEVASTATED by the Treaty of Versailles. LIMITED to 100,000 total. And ROHM had well over 3 MILLION members. ALL ARMED and ALL a threat to POWER of the NAZI PARTY!!
