The reason why is this: People live in known areas of weather, fire, quakes, flood planes.
There are more and more people pushing into those type of areas.
Places that used to flood, for example, have gas stations and strip malls are considered disaster zones when they become flooded again.
All because people moved in.
Fifty years ago, it wouldn't have made the news. Now I'm supposed to care?

Funnier still is trailer parks popping up in Tornado Alley. It isn't worth building a real and more costly house there. So put up a windsock to live in instead. In 12 years we can all gnash our teeth over the human tragedy when God farts that crap into the next state.

So each year has a "hurricane season". Gosh, who saw that coming?
Having grown up in the Southern United States, I can attest to the fact that tornadoes are indeed drawn to trailer parks and manufactured homes.
