I am retentive. It's hard to let go.  

You don't have to let go. Keep them. Let everybody else's go. In fact, I officially volunteer all of my threads to be deleted if that will save a noticeable amount of data. There are only specific things in my life that I hold on to. Threads that are trolled on anyway are not one of them.
