Wow. That actually gave me a flashback to pulp fiction.
It isn't so menacing NOW, 30 years out. But when pulp fiction first hit the cinemas, I remember being horrified for several days, feeling suddenly rapable. I had not viewed myself as a potential rape victim before Tarantino's dungeon scene.
If the book makes the rather gritty film appear sunny...
