for me, it is not difficult to understand why this would be the case tracing how humans pursued knowledge and how it changed over time.

But I would agree it was the product of some 'alien' advanced intelligence. That was the european of the 18th century. Nobody alive today compares. Including europeans.

Even today, with all of the tech we have, our species is still primitive.
