That seems EXTREMELY low...most SSI recipients get at least $600/month IIRC. I met a black man in Sacramento (CA) 3 months ago and he said he received disability payments to the tune of $6K/mo.
No doubt some people have fine-tuned their "maximize welfare $$" craft over the past 5-9 years...
Gaming the system in your favor is nothing new.
That's why audits, inspectors, routine checks, etc. are usually worth the effort.
Keeps waste, fraud, poor quality at bay.
That's the reason hog dogs aren't roadkill...
And allowable levels of feces and metal shavings are set and enforced.
