CEO’s 80 hour
work week:
10 hours golf
20 hours meetings
10 hours taking care of kids (attending junior’s boring soccer games)
15 hours showing up to the company to bother mid level managers and occasional peons (employees) with trivial nonsense
15 hours finding and talking with McKinsey/Bain consultants who will happily bill the company $1000/hr to make some fancy presentations that are 80-95% divorced from reality
10 hours finding ways to slash / minimize expenses (
“How do we get Johnny to do the work of 3 employees since we need to lay off several divisions?”) even if it ends up killing the company’s long term prospects
Why would you work harder and harder as you climb the ladder?
Higher up you get, work/reward ratio changes.
The human condition...
Please seat yourself.
I like the very things you hate.
