In this case, you need to ask which makes more sense. A vote is a personal act, not a group act. Yes, they are counted as groups, but the individual vote itself is a personal act from each person. Therefore, it makes sense that each person would vote in accordance with their own personal circumstance. If voter A is having difficulty paying for the essentials and is struggling to get by, then voter A will want a change. Thus, they will vote out the current party. Even if the stats say that everything is just peachy, because things are not just peachy to voter A.
That makes a lot more sense.
