But then, I am not even convinced that the snake river or the colorado carved their canyons. Water follows the low ground, and those river canyons are the natural route of any water. That the waters carved those canyons is a claim - that the water would have followed those canyons whether it carved them or not is a fact.
Why hasn't the missouri carved a canyon? The mississippi? The amazon? The nile?
