I'm not saying the colorado and the snake DIDN'T dig those canyons. I'm saying that I am not altogether convinced they DID. And I am stating for a fact that if they did not, they would still run that course.
Nor am I convinced this is not a simulation, and I am not a sim. Or that I am not a doomed soul in hades, yearning for salvation or oblivion or some hagen daz.
I am also of the opinion that those rivers might have dug those canyons in a trice, and NOT over a billion years, in response to some cataclysm.
The best answer, by the way, is that they lose less elevation than their canyon rich cousins - save for the nile, which DOES have canyons.
