The comparison is not to the prior quarter, it is to "pre-pandemic".
I know that science is hard (for you). For example, YOU believe that science presents an infinite number of sexes - all on a sliding scale, with change for a dollar.

The deaths are not covid deaths. But they ARE deaths. The Grim Reaper IS loosed in the land - with a vengeance. He's a-comin' for the stupid.
