I believe @FOS laughed at this retardation (for appealing to midwits) as well but it’s always amusing to recall what happened.
7-9 years ago, the so-called “intellectual dark web” spawned. These included names like:
- Jordan Peterson
- Sam Harris
- Dave Rubin
- Joe Rogan
- Steven Pinker
- Ben Shapiro

The marketing label of IDW was to push back against “Cultural Marxism” and perceived “leftist orthodoxy” permeating into the mainstream by adopting supposed “marginal” beliefs. That way if you said you were “against Wokeness” you were some hidden genius or maverick.
Now if you had any brains at all you would recognize that it’s not really the army of “leftists” that’s the problem. They merely comprised the army of footmen and online warriors typing angry words on Twitter (before Musk took over) and swamping Human Resources departments

So on the one hand, we had “pink haired tattooed leftists” (what passes as “left” these days anyway - they surely bear no resemblance to the Stalinist old guard) vs “intellectual insurgents” who repackaged conservatism and re-marketed it to the masses.
