Trump's plan to put a tariff on China and Mexico may have more cons than pros

Tell us why we should maintain our dependence on China for basically everything [plumbing, electrical, tires, electronics, nuts and bolts, structural steel, industrial machinery, aluminum, exotic metals, etc...?
Only a total dumb **** who doesn't understand the harsh realities of life would think that is a wise thing to do.
