Isabel remembered the exchange because she replied that she is only about 40 minutes from Sandy Hook, and LBI.
Some of us have been posting here and/or at .org for so long that we are almost like old friends or family.
So it is not at all unusual to share photos like that.
The nearest beach was Rockaway.
I've been in PA for over ten years now so I haven't seen the ocean since I left NYC.
