Especially the foreign fighters, fought earlier for al Qaeda and ISIS to establish a state with Islamic rule.
Especially Alewites are for them bad people, due to their interpretation of Islam.
In fact most Muslim do not consider them Muslim at all. (Correct me if I’m wrong)
