In a sense, the computer digital equivalent of breaking into the Watergate Hotel. When one of the Lawyers was interviewed by the FBI he lied by saying he was not representing any client. His billable hours got him caught.

They said they tracked DNS records from "rare, Russian-made wireless phones" at the White House attributed to Trump.
Trump was never at or around the White House during the campaign or during the transition.
Unless it was the Obama administration with the Russian phones...
