My daughter and son in-law are raising our two granddaughters on his income alone, around 55k a year.
They have one paid off car, and live in a small 2 bedroom condo. They don't do Starbucks, and rarely eat out. This is in NC where they say you need $105,000 to raise a family. If my daughter had a full time job, they would need a second car, all of the expenses that go along with. Also, full time childcare, along with a stranger raising our granddaughters. Not to mention the higher tax bracket they would be in with her income. Daughters happy, son in-law is happy, and granddaughters are being raised right. It can be done.
$55K a yr for a household? lol
What "modern womyn" would be OK with that lifestyle?
(Actually I just realized a little trick I can use in the near future based off this tidbit story)
