I heard the helicopter crew were wearing night vision goggles...?
With all of the bright lights how could that be possible...?

I read that as well,  The question is where they still flying under goggles.  The training ended at Langley and they were RTB at Davison Ary Airfield (Belvoir).

I haven't flown googles since 97 and I don't recall the max illumination.  With that technology if you had a full moon and snow you weren't going to fly NVGs that night.
