Our wallets are getting thinner by the minute.  Trumpocalypse is worse than the Betty and Wilma Charge It Gang in Blue. He said the Mass Deportation "has no price tag"..  It looks like he figured out how much it is going to cost and Holman is in his office with his thumb up his ***...  Hopefully. We actually will need those workers if things actually do turn around.

Given the pay, benefits, and retirement, we won't EVER have trouble finding people for open positions. The civilian side of government mostly concerns itself with **** on Americans. We NEED a bureaucracy. Bureaucracies get things done. And we might not be thrilled with how the sausage is made, but we want that sausage.

That said, the last president to cut the CIVILIAN side of government - the bureaucracy - was Jimmy Carter. His good efforts were immediately negated when reagan took office. Reagan, after promising the precise opposite, grew the civilian side of government faster than any president except FDR. Ya gotta go all the way back to FDR to see an increase in the size and scope of government like reagan's - but FDR's growth was smart growth that created the historically unprecedented American middle class. W. Bush created entire new entitlements like medicare part d and the american dream act (which broke the economy).

Pruning is necessary in every garden - and it has been a long **** time since we saw a proper pruning. All we've seen for decades is bloat on top of bloat - and the spending porn that DOGE is exposing is the result.

Don't be TOO concerned about Russia. They've awakened the sleeping giants in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. And then we have the roaring economies of Poland, France, and Germany.
