No. His need for a SS number was not fake. It was real. Born of his being brought here at age seven and educated here. So IF he lied and cheated to get it, he did what you or I would do in his circumstances.
And that is an enormous if. He's DACA = and DACA get numbers legally. Undoubtedly, this guy was legal to work in the U.S. He just wasn't legal to travel outside the US and then gain re-entry.
