You know how people like Trump and Musk keep repeating this line (or some variation):

I’m a billionaire / I’m wealthy, therefore I cannot be bought. 

Well it turns out there was a quotation from a century ago that refuted this “reasoning:”

And bribery is not a "trick", you moron!  It is a crime and most often a felony, and the prisons are full of people convicted of bribery!
