I sense SS is approaching insolvency if not there already despite the declaration by Team radical leftist zombie otherwise.. You seem to have some knowledge. Could you share your prediction or insight concerning the future of the program? Fortunately I have developed work skills that can make money on my death bed. I see no retirement in my future due to some bad life choices and will be among the tens of millions working to the grave. It sure looks like there won't be any benefit for me in 10 years.

Your story is like millions of others which does suck. If you have 10 more years before collecting SS you have time to change the landscape and possibly put yourself in a better position.
I shed quite a few tears when I found out my widowed Mom was living on $850/month back around 2000. She did get an inheritance around 2008 which put her in a better position. I didn't find this out until 2021. Check on your parents people, what you think may be entirely different than reality.
