The critics are understating the case. DOGE won’t just fall short of Musk’s deficit-reduction goals. It will, in all probability, increase the deficit. Probably by a lot.
It's even from your favorite source. The other outlets haven't gotten their marching orders yet.
This is all coming down from the Atlantic Council - a think tank paid for one thing, and one thing only (same a CATO and Heritage on the other side): producing narratives. In essence, the order comes down: make the "facts" say such and such. And then the think tank produces a paper, making the facts say such and such. And then the media plays echo chamber.
