I loved my Grandparents too keep cheering for em and it like a connection back to them good old days when I was a kid.
I always looked forward to seeing the Cubs come to Candlestick for a Sunday Doubleheader.
To this day, I can recall most of the Cubs starting lineup

B Williams OF
Fergie Jenkins had 5 or 6...... 20 win seasons
One game against the Giants, [maybe about 1965] Santo homered...then circled the bases, sat back down in the dug out and lit up a cigarette.
Nobody freaked out or called 911.........
