The "scary un-industrialization" America to cheap labor in China finally dawned on some people.
Gosh, a more telegraphed punch to the face could not exist.

Result: Things like a Proudly Made in America sticker on a **** plastic toy sold at CVS.
**** embarrassing.

Now the next wave of wonderfulness is take a disenchanted, mostly broke workforce, and omit them from even more options to earn a living: AI.
This is the current culmination of human existence.
Pretending we will integrate with electro-mechanical seamlessly as a natural part of evolution so we can "migrate to the stars". We can Borg our way to immortality. 

Meanwhile . . . back on Earth...
What if we are the only living entities in the universe after all? At least at this time - such as that concept goes?

That's the answer to the meaning of life. Seems a tad anti-climactic.
