It isn't silly to hold a man accountable for his recommendation that we emulate a police state. But holding a man as favoring a thing on grounds that t he has not yet criticized it, in the absence of any praise or other indication of approval? If I came in here hee-hawing what a wunnerful and free nation China was and how we oughta be more like them, there might be at least a hint of sanity in dredging up their past behavior - though I would think you could find something more recent, if you were not, yourself, so enamored of the yellow peril.
