The problem here is that Musk has taken total control of the “digital public square” ostensibly in defense of free speech - but at the same time removed a system of checks and balances that also protected free speech.
Twitter used to have shareholders, and as such it was a public entity regulated by the SEC. Twitter rules used to be an amalgam of the majority shareholders ideas, balanced by government watchdog agency. Now it’s just Musk.. in a stroke he has taken the system of checks and balances over the public discourse and replaced it with a dictator - himself

No one on the board - or this planet - is going to be able, IMO, to demonstrate a single billion of that 44 having derived from some useful product or service provided to the public from which those monies were inarguably harvested.
He was
allowed access to those monies. That access could as easily have been blocked as it was granted. When DeLorean challenged the Big Three, they cut off his money - and then they set him up and sent him to prison. People are ALLOWED to play at the money table - they don't just horn in and muscle Control.
