One is sick. The other is weak. Then, there are people who do not fight for their children even when they know they are being abused by an X-Spouse. This too is weak and/or lazy.
Like you, I expect people who are blessed enough to be ENTRUSTED by God with children, to do everything in their power to provide that child(ren) with parental love and the best life possible. I believe God gives us what he thinks we can handle, when it comes to entrusting us with the lives of others. If a woman is barren then perhaps it is her and her husband's calling to adopt and raise a child in need. When a parent abandons a child entrusted to him/her, I believe...I hope there will be a reckoning.
