Yes..  It also charges the batteries to provide braking and stop the vehicle.. Instead of wasting the energy on making frictional heat on brake pads it  puts it back in the battery.  But the sole source of energy for the Prius is liquid hydro carbon fuel..  Yes it gets converted to electricity, but technically, it is liquid hydrocarbon powered just like your gas guzzling cheeseburger eating truck. Unlike American crap hybrids that use either electric (with a charging port), or fuel, but not both at once through a propietary planetary gear drive train and software... The Prius cannot be charged from the grid. It has no plug in.. Does that make it NOT and EV?

Did you know there are vehicles that use compressed air as the energy?   Technically a vessel at pressure is an electric battery, it certainly can be used to run a turbine and generate electricity. It can also be used to blow wind through empty caves with two holes, like yours..  We look in your  left ear and see straight on through to the other side.

I recommend Physics and Science. There is some incredibly useful information contained there in.  Your noggin seems quite devoid of anything useful at all Zeet Face.. Energy equals mass times the speed of light squared..  Your mental energy is seriously impaired and running on empty.
