I can tell you this much. @Cannonpointer  Prius runs on gasoline and regenerative forces create and store power in the batteries.
It cannot be considered an electric vehicle by any stretch of a non-HOMO's imagination. However, a HOMO might envision it and assert that it qualifies as an electric vehicle.
 
 
 
 
I am quite familiar with hybrids.  I have owned 3.   A 2008 Highlander, a 2012 CRz, and now a 2022 Honda Insight.
