Bessent is the third.  Richard Grennell was the first.  He was Acting DNI under Trump in 2020.

Nevertheless, I am not pleased with Trump's selection. Bessent was employed by Soros; were you aware of this?

Bessent graduated from Yale College in 1984. In 1991, he was hired by Soros Fund Management, eventually becoming the head of its London office.

Certainly not eliminating the optics or chance of corruption by any means of the imagination.
