It identifies those who's orientation is sexual attraction to either sex. It implies that there are two sexes. There are primarily two sexes, although there are rare instances where a child is born with dual sexuality, people born with reproductive or sexual anatomy of both sexes. So...there are babies born with male sexual anatomy...there are babies born with female sexual anatomy, and those born with both...a third sexual description that is often referred to as "intersex".
