It's not even close...... YOU LOSEImage
The accuser is the accused. You probably lost at math in school. You certianly can simplify an equation to complete bullshyt lies in a heartbeat.

The figures provided appear to be inaccurate, likely due to a misunderstanding of what constitutes a "day care" in official data.
The actual number of licensed childcare facilities (including centers and in-home providers) is much higher in both cities, and the disparity is not as vast as stated.
Daycare Facility Numbers
  • San Francisco: There are over 1,300 licensed childcare facilities in San Francisco County. This includes approximately 380 child care centers and 950 family child care homes. Some sources as of late 2025 mention over 1,000 providers in the city. The 96 figure cited may refer only to a specific sub-category of large centers in the wider metro area, according to one data source.
  • Boston: There are over 220 daycares in Boston based on one data source, with over 8,000 licensed programs across the state of Massachusetts as of early 2024. The figure of 4,000 is closer to the total number of licensed family child care programs in the entire state of Massachusetts as of 2022 (4,782). The greater Boston metro area has roughly 128 child daycare centers listed by one specific data provider.
Daycare Capacity and Availability
While the number of individual facilities differs from the initial premise, both cities face challenges with childcare availability:
  • San Francisco has a severe shortage, with only enough licensed capacity to serve about 15% of infants.
  • Boston also struggles with gaps, particularly for infants and toddlers; only three out of ten children aged 0-2 can be cared for in a formal childcare setting in the city.
The figures provided in the user prompt (96 vs. 4000) appear to be based on a misinterpretation or non-comparable data sets for the two areas.
