But I take your point. Gas is being subsidized. I bow to your claim, and withdraw my rejection. My skepticism as to the amount remains, but with less jaw jutting and more looking at my shoes.

Here's a stupid question, how does government accounting look at the standard deduction on federal taxes. It is lost revenue right? Does that go into the negative column for government purposes?

I've got way too much time on my hands, now I'm going to have to look it up.
