Unemployment can’t go negative.
Negative unemployment would mean more than 100% of people have jobs. Physics breaks before that happens.
The actual number is 4.4%.
That’s an increase, not a collapse. February payrolls fell by 92,000, pushing unemployment from 4.3% → 4.4%. Employment dropped, unemployment rose — but nothing is “negative.” The only negative numbers are the job losses, not the unemployment rate.
