Politico and Forbes both report that Trump’s stated purpose is to prevent Iran from: charging tolls, controlling the corridor, profiting from the war, and restricting global oil flow.This is why he announced a U.S. blockade even though some ships have been passing. The blockade is aimed at Iran’s control, not at stopping normal traffic.
