Hey Army Vets, we have a looney, self described, military expert claiming the CIB is a participation trophy.

Do you read citations? It is very specific:
To earn the Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) in the U.S. Army, a soldier must be an Infantry or Special Forces service member (colonel or below) who is personally present and actively engaging the enemy during active ground combat while assigned to an infantry unit.
