Even under "blanket" CIB orders did the recipients actively engage in combat with the enemy?  Yes or no?


Requirements for Valid CIB Awarding:
  • Individual Qualification: The soldier must be an infantry/Special Forces MOS, assigned to an infantry unit, and actively engaged in ground combat.
  • Documentation: Unlike medals, the CIB often uses "extract" orders covering several members.
