A mohel (plural: mohelim) is a Jewish ritual circumciser who performs the brit milah (the Covenant of Circumcision). In Hasidic and Orthodox Judaism, this ancient rite is universally performed on the eighth day after a male infant's birth to fulfill the commandment given to Abraham.
