My military retirement is $6600.00 a month. My SS is $1400.00 a month (Claiming at 62 permanently cuts your benefit by 25 to 30%.) I took it. My IRA pays me $940.00 a month. I have 100% free medical......a married couple pays
$12,000–$14,000 a year for the same level of coverage I get for
$0 in premiums. That’s right Slack Jaw....while you’re out there writing checks to Blue Cross like a good little taxpayer, I’m getting thousands in healthcare benefits every single year because I earned them the hard way. So, every time you swipe your card for a copay, a deductible, or your overpriced civilian plan, just remember:
a chunk of that money helps fund the system that takes care of me........My healthcare is worth
more than your entire ‘Golden Years’ budget, and the best part?
You’re still paying into the system that covers me. Thanks for your service… to my benefits.”
Let's see...6,600+1,400+940=8,940.........8,940+1,000 = 9,940....doesn't even include the FREE HEALTHCARE.
So, this is what I have to say to anyone who says "**** your military service".
Your tax dollars helped pay for my service. My service helped protect your ability to complain about it. My service is the reason you still have a country to pay taxes in. If paying taxes for national defense bothers you, your issue isn’t with me, it’s with the Constitution. Military pay is a federal obligation. I fulfilled mine. You’re welcome for the return on your investment. We both paid taxes. I served. You couldn't, for various "COWARDLY" reasons. But....You’re welcome.
