Meanwhile, I actually paid taxes — because my income was high enough that even after deductions, the IRS still wanted their cut. So, if you want to pretend your zero‑tax bill means you’re some financial mastermind, go for it. But don’t confuse ‘I had enough deductions to wipe out my taxable income’ with ‘I’m richer’ — that’s not how math works. And TurboTax? Please. My numbers are big enough that the IRS doesn’t let me disappear with a couple of write‑offs.”
