I didn't say we shouldn't forgive. I asked to show me where Jesus advocates for us to allow our family to be attacked. That verse is about not taking revenge. It is not about preventing self-defense. Jesus wouldn't teach that a girl being raped should just lay there without fighting back or the guy should just sit around and do nothing. Self-defense and revenge are very different things.
