  If you can prove that any of your relatives were Canadian citizens you can become Canadian.
 My great grandmother was born in Canada. I proved it and am now a dual citizen. It was easy and there are a lot of North Americans doing it.
 I have a cabin in B.C. and still have my property in Michigan.
  I have to pay taxes in both countries but am only paying the Canadian taxes currently. They're the ones that count. In the U.S. you can let taxes go for 3 years. I don't have to pay while trump is president and that is a plus. Not giving this country anything so it can be pilfered by the con man makes me happy.

Sister company is (was for me) in Tres Rivioires Quebec.  I am sure they are still cooling stuff down.  And grid power is needed in the warming climate. I had a working relationship with Canadians of extremely diverse backgrounds.  One was a Lebanese who ran power grids there in his early career and made a fortune. It all got taken in conflict. He went to Ukraine, met his wife, and now raises a kid and his family his happy in CA.  I have been unable to reach him.. hee has family that has likely been evacuated..  They are Christian though..  Maybe Bebe will give them a break.

Beyond political reasons.. There are many things I find attractive in Canada.  As the climate changes, demand changes.  I see nothing but growth in Canada's future.. Unless the right wing nut jobs blow it away.

I would bring an attitude of gratitude to all of Canada for an opportunity to participate in a thriving economy. Hell, I would even make friends with Bigfoot!
