I never had any problem with beltway babies. 

I lived in Blacksburg, VA for years - did business there. I was surrounded by beltway babies. The big money north eastern scions - your kennedy crowd - went to UVA. The workaday beltway babies went to VA Tech. 

I found them to be well adjusted, well motivated, good americans.

I had miles and miles of farmland to walk freely as a kid around me..  It is now all sardine can housing as far as one can see.
I do not miss going back over there, and avoid crossing the bridge.

An associate here has a tee shirt..  "Bubboom -  The Blow Up the Bay Bridge Organization of Maryland"  Houses are going up here like an LA wild fire and not a drop of water to put it out now..  Resistance is futile...  We all wll be assimilated.

Mrs grew up here. Her childhood sounds like a heck of a lot more fun than my was.

Modernpocalyptioc Blues..  I better get out and stay on the yard work..  Last cool  day here likely until September.
