The pilots are fine and no details have been released but it isn't looking good.
One of 3 things could have happened.
Pilot error.
The chopper was crap.
Iran shot it down.
My bet is on number 3.
Our pilots are supposedly the best.

I spent a couple decades in military aviation. Yes, the equipment and pilots are the best. But you always have the human element. Bad fuel, engine failure, blade failures, or even getting shot down.

I wouldn't speculate.
